Located in the historic Canadian Pacific Railway station, the North Bay Museum strives to fulfil its mission to “inspire the discovery of the people and places of North Bay’s past and present” through programming and exhibits. The museum includes a blend of interactive and artifact based exhibits designed to appeal to audiences of all ages.

Check Out Our Latest Exhibit!

The HMCS North Bay was one of the 123 Canadian Flower Class Corvettes that fought in the Battle of the Atlantic. The ship was built by Collingwood Shipyards Ltd. and received generous support from the citizens of North Bay.

The exhibit will showcase the ship’s bell, model and gunshield plaque. The ship’s bell has been in the custody of the Sea Cadets Corps Brilliant, and will be featured in the exhibit. The opening will take place on October 25th at 7 pm to commemorate the ship’s 80th anniversary, and will feature speakers from the North Bay Naval Association as well as insights from local military historians.

 

Captains of the Clouds

See our new Captains of the Clouds presentation in the theatre upstairs!

The earliest scenes of Captains of the Clouds were filmed near Trout Lake at the fictional "Lac Vert Trading Post". Cast members stayed at the Empire Hotel and several locals starred as extras.

Visit the museum to take a behind the scenes look at this classic 1942 film.
